How does it work?
Items are submitted to us by free2collectors from around the UK.
Once these items are checked by our moderator they are added to the Available Items or Wanted Items lists.
At this stage other free2collectors can express an interest in the item.
The item owner and the interested free2collector then arrange collection between themselves using the free2collect messaging facility.

Information
Free2collect is a non-profit site that is promoting a nationwide effort to recycle unwanted items. It was started by a father and son team who run all aspects of the site from our respective homes.
We have been online since July 2005 and have succeeded in rehoming hundreds of items, ranging from furniture and kitchen equipment to cars and mobile homes.
The site relies on our visitors (who we term 'free2collectors') who have been very supportive and enthusiastic about our aims throughout. Last year we had over 150,000 free2collectors visiting us and we appreciate it enormously.
Future plans
We are looking in to ways to get more publicity for the site to increase the number of free2collectors signing up.
One of our existing free2collectors has kindly offered to help us. She has some ideas involving charities who might find our service useful.
